Prof. St-Hilaire has 30 years of experience in research and aquatic animal veterinary practice in 6 countries across 4 continents and has over 100 peer-reviewed publications. Her research focuses on infectious disease control and prevention in aquaculture species, including finding alternatives to using antibiotics. She is the committee member for the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), and has been an expert advisor for the Canadian and Chilean governments, as well as the Global Salmon Initiative (GSI). She has been a invited speaker and reviewer for various global aquatic animal health projects supported by APEC, FAO, NSF and World bank. In addition to having an MSc and PhD in veterinary epidemiology and a veterinary degree, Prof. St-Hilaire also holds an MBA.
